Do Great Work, Go Home on Time.

Tired of chasing down materials, dealing with disorganized sites, or spending your evenings doing billing and admin work?

At Microworks, we handle the headaches so you can focus on what you do best: your craft. We specialize in small, high-quality projects - home repairs, installations, and finishing work. You'll get the satisfaction of getting in, solving problems with high end tools, seeing your wins the same day, and leaving the customer thrilled.

Why You'll Love Working Here

We respect your time and your skills. Here is how we back that up:

  • Top-Tier Compensation: CA$43 to CA$45 per hour (based on experience) as a full-time, permanent employee.
  • True Work-Life Balance: Monday-Friday, daytime hours. No weekends or evenings unless you request them. Plus, enjoy 3 weeks of paid vacation (6% vacation pay paid each pay period).
  • Your Mobile Shop: We provide a fully stocked, late-model, take-home high-roof Ford Transit, and a company card for materials.
  • Less Windshield Time: We group jobs intelligently on local routes so you spend your time working, not stuck in Metro Vancouver traffic.
  • Complete Back-Office Support: You work solo, but never unsupported. Our office handles the scheduling, billing, and job details. You just show up and execute.
  • Total Autonomy: You own your route, your day, and your workmanship.

The MICRO Mantra: How Our Systems Make Your Day Easier

We run on systems designed to eliminate surprises and keep your day stress-free:

  • M -- Materials off the shelf: We move fast using local suppliers (Standard, Dicks, Home Depot/RONA). No stalling your day waiting for custom orders.
  • I -- Intentional communication: Proactive updates and clear expectations mean you always know what you're walking into.
  • C -- Customer first: We attract customers who respect professionalism in their homes, making for a better daily work environment.
  • R -- Reliable systems: Our SOPs, checklists, and CRM mean every job runs the same clean way. No guesswork.
  • O -- Only small projects: Zero renovation mayhem or long, drawn-out jobs. Tight scopes, high standards, and a clean finish every time.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

You will independently manage small projects end-to-end (usually half-day to multi-day jobs).

  • Execute with Pride: Complete carpentry repairs, installs/assembly, drywall repair, light painting/touch-ups, rot repair, trim, and fence repair.
  • Own the Job: Set up safely, protect the home, maintain a clean workspace, and deliver a professional close-out.
  • Communication As a Pro: Update customers on ETAs or material runs, maintaining a friendly, confident presence.
  • Stay Organized: Keep your Transit stocked and job-ready. Pick up materials "off the shelf" as needed, using the latest tools.
  • Leverage Tech: Use HousecallPro/CRM to easily log notes, photos, and progress.
  • Follow & Improve Systems: Execute our SOPs and share your ideas on how we can make our processes even better.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Experience: 5 or more years of hands-on experience in carpentry, handyman services, or residential repairs (finishing carpentry is ideal).
  • Skillset: Solid abilities across general carpentry, drywall repair, and touch-up work (not just commercial forming).
  • Client Skills: 5 or more years of customer-facing experience.
  • Communication: Strong verbal skills in English for customer interactions
  • Requirements: A BC Class 5 license with an acceptable driving record. You must be physically able to lift 50+ lbs and be comfortable driving a high-roof Transit.
  • Professionalism: Must follow company workplace conduct and safety policies, including no smoking or vaping in company vehicles, in uniform, or at customer sites
  • Eligibility: Authorized to work in Canada (we do not provide immigration sponsorship). Employment may be subject to a background check, where permitted by law
